How Do I Get Started?
It’s a big deal, changing careers. I’m finally understanding what skills I enjoy using. I did the research and left no stone unturned. I even got the required training. But how do I get started on turning this new adventure into a career? Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer. Yes I do!
Hard work!
And I think this “hard work” can look different to different people. I am finding that it is harder for me to promote myself, network with potential clients, and invest directly in my own success. I can find a lot of other things to do that are great distractions. But, I have slogged along and at least got the website done.
Baby steps!
Then, one morning, as I was thinking about practicing transcription so I don’t lose my skills, I realized that we had a whole bunch of videos to transcribe for our actual business. Hooray! It would be a win-win situation. I got started right away, and in the process, I realized I was learning my way around YouTube, and all of that knowledge was directly related to the YouTube networking that my training discussed.
The answer is often right in front of your face!
It still feels like I have to keep pushing myself forward, but now there is some movement and enjoyment. I, also, have the chance to use this material of ours as an example of my work, a promotion for the business, and I am getting a blog page out of it! Let’s see where this goes. How do I get started?
